Holy hell that was a hard #run. Out with friends last night and only a few hours sleep, and desperately needed to get the car back early...so stuck my trainers on and went on one of the beautiful routes back to #tonbridge. Pain kicked in on my left foot almost immediately and wouldn't subside, so I dropped the pace back all the way to near 13 minute miles at first and in the end at mile 3 I stopped, took my shoe off, massaged the foot and the calf, and then #ran on with my shoe undone. That did the trick and the pain disappeared. 5 more miles after that and I ended up at #tonbridgecastle to take a couple of photos before hopping in the car. Happy Sundays!!
Quick 5k while Spud was learning guitar, yet again missing #pwac. ,#throwbackthursday for the photo to this year's #londonmarathon #running for #diabetesuk Massive #fomo for not running it again in 2020
Little did I realise that my route this morning was going to be interupted by a bike race...got three miles in and all of a sudden 100s of bikes zoomed past me haha. Had a fantastic #run through the woods and on to the back roads around my stunning part of the world. #Training is back on course with 6.5, gotta say I could have extended that as it felt very comfortable.
Fitting in a #run when I can. That went way better than expected, although I'm tired after only 3 miles. Plan is decided for the weekends, 5 then 7, 9,11 and then the next week is #tonbridgehalfmarathon . Bring it on!!
#tonbridgehalfmarathon for the 5th year running?? Oooh go on then... Been a very tough race for me the last couple of years, I've slowly gone backwards in times. This is a tough old undulating course with around 700 feet of elevation, and I've done zero training so far so it's going to be bad again this year, but at least it might get me back in the game after a bit too much of 'treating myself to all the sweets' summer. 5 weeks to get half marathon ready...and....GO
Weighed myself after my holiday...and that motivated me to get out and #run Holiday has not been kind to my stomach, I can still see my feet but it's becoming an effort 😂😂 Lovely run round the village though, on a not so sweltering evening.
Well #lanzarote you have been amazing. Came here with a plan in mind, the kids didn't exactly let me execute it how I wanted but she said yes, and me and @ettastic are going home with a lot of planning to do for the day of our lives when I can finally call her my wife. Absolutely loved this 10 days, if someone could just give me money so I didn't have to work...that'd be great!!
So I #ran up a #volcano this morning. I say #run but really it was a slow walk haha. Still over 500 feet elevation in less than the first mile though and I'm proud of myself, I've been staring at this volcano since I arrived in #lanzarote and with only one full day left (booo ) it HAD to be today
Holidays with #diabetes can be a pain the ass, especially when in foreign countries and asking for drinks, they sometimes miss the importance of 'diet' or 'lite' drinks. As clearly shown by this image!! That being said the most difficult thing for me since the release of the life changing #freestylelibre from @abbottglobal has always been water slides/swimming pools and keeping it stuck on. This year I've been trying #hypafix tape and I gotta say...this is the best stuff EVER! I've not lost a sensor at all even on the drop slides and I've been in the pool 4-5 hours most days. Amazing stuff!! Sugar levels are coming back down again now, ready for tonight 🤔
What's more fun than #running off a night of cocktails??? Well I'll tell you, running and seeing lots of cats that all just want to be petted. Very slow for me, but there were just too many of the beasts that called out for a quick hug so I stopped for as many as possible. Back to lounging by the pool now!
Early miles after a VERY indulgent few days. Went for a #run out along the sea front and found loads of cats, so it was not gonna be a quick run cause I had to stop and give each one a stroke.
She said yes 😃💍🍾
Exploration #run I've only lived here for three years and I still don't know all the routes around the fields that surround my village. I got very lost but I did the distance I wanted. Yesterday I had my second #diabetespump meeting and I now have a #omnipod stuck to my tummy to rest whether I like it. I really do, I can't feel it when I'm running or sleeping (two things I really enjoy 😂 ) so I think this is the pump for me. Started my run with blood sugars of 8, finished with 5.8, and the stress of my day has gone.
Booo it's the end of the weekend. #run to finish it off in style.
Day 4 of shit at work and so another #run to clear the head. Off into the fields this time. Was about to go low before I left so I guzzled a bottle of #lucozade sport and now that I'm back, I'm still well within target so I might start trying that for my shorter runs.
Little slow #run round #hadlow after what is proving to be an exhausting time at work. Running has always helped me clear my head and put things in perspective and I needed it tonight. Started the run on a #bloodsugar of 5.0 and was fine with my jelly baby diet every mile until I got back and then boom, time for a #hypo. Second one of the day so I knew it would come eventually, they rarely happen only once and I'm glad I got to finish the run before having to deal with it. Dinner and a beer I reckon, I've earnt it hah
Amazing weekend away with these absolute Legends. The rain tried to ruin it for us, but it lost!! #norfolk10k this morning and it was a lovely route. Out and back around Thetford. Came in 17th place with a 52 minute run...and a load of nettle stings up and down my legs hah
Got that #friyay feeling. It's the last race of the season for me this Sunday at #norfolk10k with some of the #legends of #diabetesuk and I cannot wait. I'm so excited to see my friends, it feels like ages even though it's only been a few weeks. It's so warm out there, but last nights storm broke it enough for it to be a comfortable run, and I think if I hadn't stopped for a set of photos with these beauts in the background, that I would have been around 25 minutes. Happy with that, time for steak!!
Little #run round my village to get the day started while listening to chapter 5 of #mydadwroteaporno No #libre as it ran out and we are off swimming today so had to check blood sugars in the old ways. 10 to start, 10 at the finish. Good enough!!
No #pwac for me tonight. Instead I was on dad duty so while William had his guitar lesson I made off round our local parkrun route with #mydadwroteaporno for company.people must have looked at me thinking I was made as I was laughing my arse off!! The #run was over before I knew it, so back home for a pizza!!
#medalmonday and two #runs I've really enjoyed the last couple of weeks. First the #familymarathon with my friends, 26.2 miles as a group of 6 of us where we just spent the whole time chatting and laughing and then on to the #midkent5miler this weekend where my besty pushed me to #run a lot faster than I've managed in the last year. Love both these medals for very different reasons, but the common factor is that both events let me run and be with my mates.
Afternoon off work so when it cooled down a little bit I just had to get out for a #run Tried to push myself a little to get somewhere near my old times and I'm very happy with that. Blood sugars are shocking though, started on 16.0 and finished on 12...you normies will never go above a 9 and generally stay around a 4-6. The joys of #diabetes
Holy hell it's hot out there this morning but what a lovely #run on yet another new route round my beautiful little village of #hadlow 2 #races left for the season in #midkent5miler next weekend and then the #norfolk10k at the end of the month and my body is telling me it REALLY needs a rest now.
#barcelonamarathon joins the #parismarathon and #londonmarathon framed times and dates. When I do a new marathon @ettastic has a picture designed to frame the achievement. Absolutely love this and I've been waiting to put it up as we have building work going on, but I just couldn't resist any longer!!
Beautiful evening for a #run round my village. William isn't feeling great so didn't want to be out late. Ran down some new lanes, some new fields and ended up coming out in the park near my house so relatively happy I didn't get that lost haha. Blood sugars really played ball tonight as well. My #hokaoneone came off in the mud in the woods, how there is still mud after the heat of this week I will never know!!
Absolutely in love with these. I've just retired my @hokaoneone #arahi 1's and 2's so I had to go and buy another set of the 3's as they are by far the most comfortable #runner I've ever had. #running in hoka I've now covered over 1300 miles, and the pains I used to get have completely gone away, so I'm sticking with them for the foreseeable future. Now what #race will I try them at first 🤔🤔
Only took 22 years to get a single day where I was 100% in range (like you normies ). Finally I have seen the magical #unicorn. #diabetes is a strange old bugger, I've spent the week since #endure24 with horribly high blood sugars that are completely uncontrollable and then boom...total calm and a perfect day. It's never easy, but a day like that makes it worth it!!
#medalmonday it's taken me a long time to get moving today. My legs are crushed, and I'm more tired than I've been in a long long time. I already miss the awesome people I've had the privilege to spend the weekend with, from the mad crew of team #diabadasses that came in 50th out of 173 (pic illustrates!! ) To the amazing runners out on the course that like nothing more than a chat while they ran the 4 mile up/1 mile down course of reading #endure24 My head is saying absolutely not for next year, but my heart is saying how could I miss out??
#endure24 laps 3 and 4 in the dark. The teams over the 100 mile mark now and still #running strong. I really struggled with my night runs this time, the slushy muddy ground with just a head torch is tough but the inspiration of the solo #runners gets you round. 1 or 2 more #runs left for me, my legs are screaming only one but we will see.
#endure24 lap 2. Starting to dry out on the course. Consistent #running so far but next up is a double lap in the dark...booo!! Loving this atmosphere
#run one done at #endure24. Dead on pace at 50 mins. May have felt a little sick after the beers last night, so hopefully run 2 will be easier. New PB on heartbreak 'bastard' hill
