If you are trying to use someone else’s superpowers, you are going to crash and burn. In leadership, whether in your business or home, being something you are not won’t get you the results you want. And, You will burnout, become bitter, and blow up on people you care about. I have always known what my superpowers were, but they weren’t always welcomed or praised early on, so I built a belief that they needed to be shoved down. Way down. Wanna know what happened? Read two paragraphs up. Thats what. Listen, we all have a dark side. But where there is darkness, there must be light. The key is knowing what that looks like, not to beat yourself up, but to be a compass to direct you to the light. So quit burying your head to it, or even worse, don’t stay in the pit of it. Know it, Understand it, Embrace it, and most importantly leverage it. As an Enneagram 8, my natural intensity could always get the job done-usually barreling thru anything in my path, however it left wreckage. A lot of it. Once I understood where that came from and looked at it thru the lens of compassion and understanding, I didn’t have to cage that natural born gift, I just reframed it for the greatest good, not just for me but everyone I touch. Too often I tried to fit a mold that wasn’t me and although I could do it, it almost killed me, my family, and my financial life. Not only that, it isn’t sustainable. Ive learned to really honor all facets of who I am and what my soul contract looks like today. I recognize when I am about to breach that contract and course correct fast without all the shame attached to it. In the online world of glorified leadership and highlight reels, so often you are allowing yourself to get pulled into contracts that aren’t for you- depleting you of feeling good about much. Stop it. Learning and teaching the #Enneagram the last 8 years has kept me in my lane, keeps the vibes in my home in harmony, and allowed me to have tremendous success that feels great (and a lot easier than if I tried to be like you ) You cant lead others if you cant lead yourself. Lean into your natural gifts. Own them. Once I did, everything changed for the better. Don’t you want the same?

Hey there! I've crawled out of the hole that was recipe developing & testing for my cookbook. July was intense, hard work but I made it. Cheers to that! 🥂 Since I've been pretty quiet here on social, & there's some new friends following, I thought I'd introduce myself with some fun facts. Here we go: ☀️ I'm a registered dietitian and certified personal trainer who believes healthy is for everyone. My goal is present ways to #MakeHealthyEasy so we all have more space in our lives to live vibrantly and love others well. What good is health if we are not using it to make the world better? ☀️ I consider myself an "open eater" and enjoy all types of foods. My favorites, for the record, are chocolate chip cookies, tacos, and sushi. ☀️ I have an incredible family, led by my handsome man @coach_braddock , and kept quite busy with my awesome boys. These are my most favorite people. ☀️ My hubs is a head high school football coach & we love living a football life. Particularly, we feel called to investing in our players and supporting them to become men of character. I also feel called to support the significant others of our coach's and build strong community with them. Yes, #IamTamiTaylor . ☀️ As you can tell, I love red wine (particularly @tvinewinery & @frogsleap ) & bright colors. I'm also a plant 🌿, beach 🏖, and party 💃 lady, if those are official things. ☀️ I'm about to finish writing my first cookbook which releases in December. LET’S CONTINUE LEARNING ABOUT SUBTYPES THIS WEEK! First you learned about your dominant Enneagram Subtype (Instinct ). Then, you learned that you actually have ALL 3 human Instincts within you -- just layered in a unique Subtype Stacking! The stacking is usually written like “[dominant Subtype] / [2nd strongest Subtype]” — with the least expressed Subtype often left out altogether. If you’ve reached some kind of understanding about th3 Subtype aspect of the Enneagram, chances are, you’re already leveling up your relationship and career game! 🎉Congrats! A lot of #Enneagram experts like to talk about “growth and stress arrows” on the #Enneagram (or the directions of integration and disintegration ). The idea is, each Enneagram number has another number they reflect when they’re at their healthiest and still another number when they’re stressed out or showing unhealthy behaviors. For example, an Enneagram 9 supposedly looks like a healthy 3 in growth and an unhealthy 6 in stress. The fact is, things just aren't that linear. The Enneagram is a dynamic tool, not a static identity-creating thing. I think we need to start unlearning this idea. Because in the long run, this static idea of stress and growth lines can create more harm than good. It can cause us to see parts of ourselves that can actually be healthy as a bad thing. One of the things I've come to realize is: our stress number’s natural GIFT is actually the thing we have THE LEAST amount of practice with because our natural COPING MECHANISMS shield us from them. So, as an #Enneagram9 , I look like an unhealthy 6 in “stress.” One of a 6’s gifts is to prepare for when things go wrong. My 9 coping mechanism is to always assume that everything will be okay and work out. That coping mechanism shields me from preparing for things going wrong. Because I never practice preparing for negative scenarios, when my coping mechanism stops serving me, I snap to an unhealthy 6 behavior and freeze, unable to make a decision. Real talk: I keep thinking, what am I doing? No really, WHAT AM I DOING? And it’s annoying the 💩 out of me. I really feel like moving forward right now, with what I want to do, is like a construction site on 71/75 that never makes progress. Seriously, my journal entry today was a full page of QUESTIONS listed out for myself 🤦🏻♀️😅 I’m trying desperately to define what this new season of life is for myself and what to focus on. And here’s the thing, I used to be way WAY busier. I was involved in shows, vocal coaching, concerts, events, odd jobs here and there, church, vacations, and weekends were booked. This was my purpose. My direction. A big part of my identity. I was constantly meeting new people. There was lots of learning and growing. I had community. And I’m not blaming 2020 (okay maybe a little ) - but it’s been the SLOW DOWN year, which at first was nice, but for someone whose life revolves around connecting and being with large groups of people, I’m feeling more than a little lost. And it’s not that I feel like I’m running out of time or have to be striving to have a purpose, but I feel strongly like I’m being pulled in a new direction - and I think I like it (😉 ) and want to lean into it. So here’s the general consensus: -I see great value in connecting on social media -I want to build a community of women who genuinely love sharing, motivating, developing, and encouraging one another in their passions. -I want to continue to journal more, write more, sing more, and share more - get those creative juices flowing. So here’s to being at a transitional stage in your life, Pivoting and asking the hard questions, and moving forward with a little more purpose and a lot more patience....because Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither was a single freeway 🛣 . We are all construction 🚧 sites.
I almost never feel like working out on Wednesdays. 🤦🏼♀️ About 5 minutes into my workout, I’m done. 😆 It’s the 5th straight day of working out, the middle of the week… and let’s just say I’m tired. 😴 You know what I do? 👇🏼 I lean in. I pretend I’m a coach. I tell myself that I have it in me to finish - and to finish strong. 💪🏼 I up my weights. I do an extra rep. 😮 And I’m always glad I did. 😉 I feel the same when it comes to this business - some days, it’s hard. And I truly don’t feel like it. 😬 But I’m always so glad when I remember what fires me up (equipping YOU ) and push through. ❤️ What keeps you going, friend? (Coffee is an acceptable answer… 😉

I’ve heard so many people say I’ll create a budget when I pay off some bills. Problem is you’ll never pay off bills without a budget! I use the Budget By Paycheck workbook from @thebudgetmom ⠀ ⠀ 2. Create more income! Ask for a raise or find a side hustle! I’m doing this by earning my degree for my day job and Health Coaching on the side. What makes you feel valued in a relationship? (by Enneagram type ) This post started out specifically about romantic relationships, but as I thought about it more, I realized we all need similar things from ALL our close relationships, not just the romantic ones. So here’s how to make each type feel valued in a close relationship (platonic, romantic, or familial ). Share it with your partner! Share it with your roommate! Share it with your mom! Share it with whoever needs to know. And don’t forget to read their slide as well. ✨ When I asked about this in stories, EVERY TYPE shared these three things: 1. It’s nice to share the load - no one wants to be the first to invite/initiate every hang out. 2. Put down your damn phone and look someone in the eye. 3. A little listening goes a long way. Sometimes I think we get so caught up examining the differences between the types that we lose sight of our similarities. When I asked about what makes each type feel valued at work, every type shared that they appreciate being recognized for a job well done, even in small ways. Take Note of the People, Place, & Things that Drain You. ✨ I’ve learned that there is a drastic difference between endurance & being drained. Endurance runs with hope, being drained often leads us empty, physically ill, or hopeless. Take note of the things that affect you, but not in a good way.
