I am so bloody done today. Am I coming down with a cold? Who knows! And I aching all over?you better believe it. Also let's talk weight loss. I have plateaued again. Because chocolate. Not a massive issue. But I have lost... erm... just over 3 st. I am not where I expected to be, but I am still making progress. Even if its not evident on the scales. Anyways, I have put away the summer wardrobe, and I was trying to find something to wear today. I realised that.... i am fucked. I have left myself with jumpers. So many jumpers. And leggings.. and .... I need to go shopping but I am also super reluctant to buy new clothes until I am a lot closer to my goal? Why does no one ever discuss this? Thst point where you get rid of half your wardrobe as a middle fingers salute to clothing you won't be wearing again... but giving no thought to the interim? Also included today is a study in what goes on in my workouts 😅

Ladies, listen up! The scale is evil. The scale sets us up for failure. It is so easy to get a scale and weigh yourself everyday. It becomes an obsessive behavior, something we do not want. The number isn't going down though and you feel defeated because you are doing all the things, right? Let's break it down shall we?! Do you rely on the scale to tell you your progress? Are you listening to your body's cues? When you "think" your hungry, your body might actually need: 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 - water keeps our bodies running and our digestion in check 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐢𝐧 - protein keeps us fuller longer because it takes longer to digest 𝐒𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 - your mind may not realize you're full because you've inhaled it. Slow down, chew and let your digestive system go to work 𝐒𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩 - your body may need additional rest and recovery 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 - emotions can play a role on overeating and undereating These are all things to consider when eating and weighing in. Our minds tend to see the scale down and think "I'm down a pound so I can eat whatever I want". False. The point to weight loss is a caloric deficit. If you want a banana split on the weekend, stay under enough each day to allow it without sacrificing your weight. The point is to enjoy your life but also be mindful of your body and what it's telling you. It will give you cues on how it feels and what it requires, but know the difference between hunger and other needs. Getting comfortable with putting on weight is a journey and progress is not linear. Whether you’ve suffered with disordered eating in the past, body dysmorphia, or just the general fear of having a larger waist/ more body fat/ etc. it’s okay, you can push through it. We’re brought up in a society that tells us HOW to look and HOW to act, so it’s completely normal to have all these preconceptions. If you’re struggling with wanting to accept how you look but feeling conflicted at the same time, you’ve at least recognised that you should accept your body no matter what it looks like and that’s a massive step towards progress and self acceptance. As a kid and then a teenager, I always had a relatively slim figure and lanky arms, I struggled so much to widen my back and develop upper body strength back when I was a competitive swimmer. I remember my friends used to do the same training as me, come to group gym sessions with our coach and so the same sets as me, eat similar food to me... yet they had toned, muscular arms and I was sat there with twigs. Obviously, I don’t think like that anymore, but at the time it really bothered me. Fast forward to about 10 years later, I have moments where I look at my arms and dislike how much bigger they look compared to when I was younger. The difference is, I’ve been consistent with training, increased my calories a lot (I have over 2,500 a day for maintenance ) and I’m significantly older now. I went from not wanting skinny arms as a teenager to low key wanting them again as an adult.. that’s what social pressures do to you, they mess with your logic, haha! We’ve all got these ingrained views of how we’re supposed to look: curvy but lean, muscular but proportionate, slim but not skinny, thick but not fat... WHAT A LOAD OF BULLSHIT. Everyone’s body is different and we all store fat and grow muscle at different rates and in different places. The way you look has nothing to do with who you are as a person, don’t ever let it consume your thoughts and happiness. People don’t enjoy your company and love you because of how you look, but because of how you treat them and make them feel. Remember that.

CrossFit? Talk to me⁉️ The last few months I really feel like I’m missing something on my training and keep looking into functional training. There is a lot of mixed reviews on this type of training and potentially biased, but I’m really tempted to see for myself .. Would love to hear from someone that does this training and/or any recommendations to local places near Biggleswade. 🙌🏼
